《分甘同味》Sharing Plates Hong Kong is a publication project led by Dr. Angela Mak, with the support by HKBU’s Knowledge Transfer Partnership Seed Fund, together with Dr Dang Yi from School of Chinese Medicine, celebrity chef Ricky Cheung, Hong Kong Cancer Fund and Wan Li Book Co. Ltd. This project provides an experiential learning opportunity for us (PR and AB majors) to go through different stages of book publication. We interviewed and wrote up 12 stories about local citizens and celebrities who underwent difficult times as cancer patients, survivors or caregivers. A major feature of the book is that the stories are complemented by 20 recipes provided by the interviewees and vetted by TCM and dietitian. This reflects our belief that love can heal through dishes shared between cancer patients and their beloved ones.
