Although the department does not currently require an internship as part of its curriculum for any of its three options, it does have an Internship Coordinator who maintains regular contact with potential employers who frequently offer summer internship opportunities to our students.

These internships usually provide a basic salary, some specialized training, career-related professional experience, and an opportunity to observe the communication practices of the organization involved.

Student who complete a summer internship and who complete the required written paper reporting on and evaluating their internship experience, have their grade transcript marked accordingly so that potential employers are made aware of the additional experience gained by the student through the internship experience.
