Each Option within the Department has its own specialized student workshop whose extracurricular activities support the goals of the regular Option curriculum.

The workshop for the ORGC curriculum is known as The Young Communicator (TYC).

TYC is a non-credit-bearing practicum that provides students with the opportunity to integrate subject material from the course by engaging in practical communication activities. TYC is responsible for the ongoing development of a database of research about communication in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland.

Students in TYC also organize a series of academic and professional seminars throughout the academic year on a variety of current topics.
