Cross cultural
consumer studies, advertising strategy, advertising and children, gender
portrayal in media, consumer socialization, materialism
Prof. Chan
is currently Professor in the Department of Communication Studies, Hong Kong
Baptist University. She worked in the advertising and public relations
profession and as a statistician for the Hong Kong Government before she
joined the academia. She actively involves in research on Hong Kong and
China's consumer behavior and advertising, and environmental studies.
She recently completd a research project on Advertising and children in
China.
Current position:
Professor
Prof. Chan
joined the HKBU in 1993. She taught part time at various higher educational
institutes in Hong Kong and Macau for eight years. She was a
visiting Professor at Copenhagen Business School at the summer of 2006 and 2007.
