Kara CHAN

Research Interests

Cross cultural consumer studies, advertising strategy, general roles, environment and health.

Prof. Chan is currently Professor in the Department of Communication Studies, Hong Kong Baptist University. She worked in the advertising and public relations profession and as a statistician for the Hong Kong Government before she joined the academia. She is convener of Environment, Health and Sustainability Working Group of David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies. She recently completed a project on promoting healthy eating among adolescents. She won a Highly Commended Award at the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2012.

Prof. Chan joined the HKBU in 1993. She was a visiting Professor at Copenhagen Business School at the summer of 2006 and 2007.
